Commonwealth of Australia
Australia is the smallest continent on the Earth. It is situated on Southern hemisphere and it is surrounded by Indian ocean in the north-west and Pacific ocean in the north-east.  It covers an area of 7.7 mil. sq km and it has nearly 17.5 mil inhabitants mostly of British origin. Australia is a member of Commonwealth so the head of the state is the English queen Elisabeth II, which is represented by the Governor General Sir William Hayden here.     The capital city is Canberra , but the biggest city is Sydney, which is cultural, economic and political centre of the country. Other important towns are Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Newcastle. Most of the large cities are situated on the south-eastern coast. Their currency is the Australian dollar. Official language is the English l. We can it into 7 regions (New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory, Australia Capital Territory). Surface is mostly flat. In the whole continent is only one important river Murray with its tributary Darling.  Raw materials are coal, iron ore, bauxite, uranium...).
New Zealand
It is a state which is situated on islands in the Southeast from Australia and in the Southwest Pacific ocean. New Zealand occupies two islands - North Island and South Island. Coast on the Northern Island is mainly hilly and rolling with some lowland areas. Highest peak is Mt. Cook.  Head of the state is the English Queen too (area = 268 thousand sq km,pop.=3.4 mil. )The capital city is the Wellington. Other towns are Auckland, Christchurch, Manukau, Dunedin. Currency is New Zealand dollar. The highest peek in the mountains of the South Island is Mt. Cook. Both countries belong to the highly developed countries of the world.
